How Pike protects your privacy

Pike helps people who can't afford a lawyer. We try to do that without ever turning your situation into someone else's marketing.

What stays on this device

When you use Pike anonymously, your conversation history and drafts are stored in this browser only (for up to 14 days), not under any account on our servers. To generate each reply, your messages do pass through our servers and on to the AI providers listed below, but we don't keep an account-linked copy. If you clear this browser's storage or don't come back within 14 days, that work is gone — that is the trade-off for not signing in.

What we store when you sign in

Signing in associates your chats with your account so you can come back to them. We store: your email, the messages in each chat, documents you uploaded for that chat, and drafts produced by Pike. We never sell this. We do not advertise against it.

What our AI sees

To answer your question, your message and any document text you uploaded are sent to a language model (Anthropic, Google, or OpenAI, depending on configuration) for that single response. We do not use your data to train models. We do not log your questions for product analytics. To enforce our terms, we keep a limited abuse-monitoring log: when a request trips our safety checks, we record a one-way hash (not the text itself) so we can spot repeat abuse.

Subprocessors — who else may see your content

Pike uses a small set of vendors to deliver the product. They each have access to specific kinds of data: • Anthropic (Claude) — receives your chat messages and any document text you reference, to generate the reply. Used for OCR when you upload a scanned PDF. • OpenRouter — routes some requests to Google Gemini or other models. Same scope of access as Anthropic. • Google (Gemini), via OpenRouter — same scope when configured as the active model. • Resend — receives the document body when you choose to email a draft from Pike. • Turso (libsql) — primary database. Stores your account, messages, drafts, and uploaded document text under your user id. We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not share document content with advertising or analytics tools.

Sensitive content — health, financial, court records

Pike is not a HIPAA-covered entity, not a healthcare provider, and not a law firm. If you upload medical records, financial statements, court filings, or anything similarly sensitive, you are sharing that content voluntarily under the upload authorization you gave at first upload. Pike does not sell or share consumer health data, and we don't use it for advertising. If you live in Washington or another state with a consumer health data law, the upload authorization is your consent for Pike to collect and process that data as described here. You can revoke your upload authorization at any time in Account → Privacy controls; revoking deletes every document you've uploaded along with any text Pike extracted from it.

Pike is not a lawyer — and your chats are not privileged

Pike provides legal information, not legal advice. We tell you what the law says, what your documents say, and what the law's procedure looks like — and we let you draw your own conclusions. Pike does not predict outcomes, recommend a course of action, or represent you. Importantly: conversations with Pike are not protected by attorney-client privilege the way conversations with a lawyer are. Like email or text messages, they could be requested or subpoenaed in a legal proceeding. For high-stakes matters — criminal charges, deportation, custody where children's safety is at issue — please talk to a real lawyer. Pike will surface free legal-aid options when it spots one of these situations.

Deleting your data

Sign in, open a chat, and archive or delete it — deletion is immediate and permanent. Deleting your account removes everything tied to it from our database immediately: chats, messages, documents, drafts. You can also download a complete copy of your data first from Account → Your data.

Your privacy rights

Wherever you live, Pike gives you the same controls: you can access your data (Account → Your data exports everything as JSON), correct it (edit your profile), and delete it (delete any chat, any document, or your whole account — effective immediately). We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. If you have a question or want us to act on a rights request by email, write to hello@pike.legal.

Children

Pike is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe a child has used Pike, email hello@pike.legal and we will delete the data.
